Massachusetts Democrats are playing politics again as usual. With the death to Ted Kennedy, Democrats in Massachusetts as trying to change the law THEY passed only five years ago to prevent Mitt Romney from ever appointing a Senate seat if one became vacant. Now that they have a Democratic Governor and are wanting to pass health care, they don't think they need to stick with the law they passed. Typical Democrats! Just like the taxes they want us to pay but some many of them don't pay.
At the time, Democratic Sen. John Kerry was running for president and Massachusetts had a Republican governor, Mitt Romney. Proponents of changing the law argued that a gubernatorial appointment was undemocratic and that only voters should decide on a replacement. Democrats also feared Mr. Romney would appoint a Republican.
